Saturday 24th February, 10am-3pm, £60.
All equipment and materials provided.
This one day workshop is aimed at the complete beginner but is also suitable for those who have experience and want to get inky and creative in our studio using our large press.
Drypoint is an ‘intaglio’ printmaking process; drypoint uses a sharp tool to scratch marks into the surface of an acrylic sheet. A print is taken from ink which is held within these marks which we will do using our lovely large press. A great introductory technique for those interested in Intaglio printmaking – perfect for drawing lovers!
We will provide all equipment and materials: paper and inks and images to work from.
We will introduce you to the technique and talk you through the process to help you design your own print.
Using images supplied, you will make a tracing into the acetate using the special etching tool.
If you want to use your own images, make sure they are no larger than A6 and are appropriate for line work.
We will then print multiples using different coloured inks.
Please bring an apron or old shirt to protect your clothes.
We will provide tea and coffee, please bring your own lunch.
The workshop is held at our studio at Bowden Hall, Marple, Stockport which is a characterful Victorian mansion within grounds full of mature trees.
The venue is accessible, parking is available on site or it is a short walk from the 384/383 bus route or Rose Hill Station. Bowden Hall is a few minutes drive from Marple village centre, 15 minutes from Stockport and the M60.
We aim to make our courses and workshops as accessible as possible. Our studio is accessible, however, there is no designated disabled access toilet, although toilets are on the ground floor with no steps to negotiate. Please do contact us at info@twistedtreesproductions.com for more information should you require before booking.
